Fantastic little gem of a spot! Super friendly staff, and amazing food. Huge portions, you will be stuffed! So much better than the fancy restaurants, a real family feel at Asteria. Bravo!!!

I use to come to this place 15 years ago. Not sure what happened
to it , so run down abd prices are to high, and Chicken Souvlaki Dinner
is smaller on the chicken portions 30% less and for $19 your stuffed with rice patatoes and bread. As for the servers, they can use a few lesson in customer service. This is the location near Chester Subway Station.
CLEARLY NOT WORTH IT! NOT GOING BACK! -

Look, if you want a posh Greek meal, go somewhere else. I'm not going to give it a lower rating because it's not one of the super modern places where you're paying for decor.
It's a simple, old, family-run Greek joint - the kind of place I'm led to believe was what originally defined Greektown.
And it's good. It's really good. The menu's got all the classics, it's consistent, they don't try to do anything over the top.
Come as you are, get a good feed, and that's it. Want posh? Go somewhere else. Want good? This works. -

My goto place on the Danforth for simple Greek food. I've been coming to Asteria for years, probably more than a decade, and it's been consistently good, every time!
This is not a high end fine dining restaurant, it's the place to go for honest and delicious Greek food in a relaxed family friendly environment. Every time I've been here I felt as if I got great value for the money, great service, a full belly, and most importantly, a delicious meal.
They are open all seasons and in the summer they have a nice and peaceful patio out back.
My usual order is the Greek salad with chicken souvlaki. I enjoy my food too much, or it's that I have very little self control, so I usually skip the well prepared roasted potatoes and french fries (usually :-). The chicken is always juicy and tzattiki is perfectly too garlicky. The salads and veggies are always fresh and crisp with just the right amount of feta and dressing (which isn't to heavy or oily).
When on the Danforth I'm always looking for a good restaurant and sometimes try one I've never been to, only to compare it to Asteria and rue my choice and the bill. -

Very disappointed in this place. Awful calamari as a starter. Tasted like fryer needed fresh oil. Also very small serving. Fries with chicken souvlaki on a bun also tasted stale. I had the chicken Greek salad. The chicken was nice but the salad was welted with maybe 3 tomato slices. 4 olives. Very unimpressed. Don't go. Plea ty of other places to chose from.
